Ranking Selena Gomez' Albums!

Hi! This week I'm going to share my opinion on one of my favorite musical artists: Selena Gomez. This is all based on my personal opinion, so you don't have to agree. Currently, she has six studio albums (including "For You"). This list will only include her personal albums and will not include soundtracks or other projects.

6.

In sixth place, is Gomez' first solo album, "Stars Dance", which was released in 2013. The album mainly consists of dance-pop and has no real direction. While some of the songs can be enjoyable to listen to individually, the album as a whole represents more of a compilation of songs, rather than conveying a clear message.
Since this was also an 'introduction' to Gomez as an individual, I don't appreciate how many of the tracks are dance songs. This album also seems to try too hard to make Selena Gomez look 'grown-up' and tries to venture into more mature topics (parental consent may be necessary).
However, this was the album that shot Gomez into the limelight with her singles such as: "Come & Get It" and "Slow Down", but it is not my favorite of her's. Especially, because this album was the source of the atrocious song, "Birthday". In my opinion, "Stars Dance" is one of Gomez' weaker projects.
I re-listen to 6 out of the 13 tracks on this album. Those songs are: "Slow Down", "Stars Dance", "Come & Get It", "Forget Forever", "Save the Day", and "Love Will Remember".

Fun Fact: This was supposed to be Selena Gomez' last album.

5.

("For You" Album Cover)

In fifth place, is Gomez' last album with Hollywood Records (Disney), "For You", which was released in 2014 (parental consent may be necessary). This album is not a typical album, because it's a compilation album of some of her greatest hits, while she was with Hollywood Records and I think it does a good job of paying homage to her prior pieces of work. I'm going to try my best to not sound hypocritical, but "Stars Dance" was supposed to be a normal album, with a message or story, but it wasn't. I know that this shouldn't count, but I still like it better than "Stars Dance", so I included this in my list, but I don't think it would be fair to rate this any higher, considering it incorporates music from Selena Gomez' different eras.
This album also includes what I think to be one of Gomez' best singles to date, "The Heart Wants What It Wants".
It also features a version of Selena Gomez' cover of the late Selena Q.'s "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom".
I relisten to 11 out of the 15 tracks on this album. Those songs are: "The Heart Wants What It Wants", "Come & Get It", "Love You Like a Love Song", "Tell Me Something I Don't Know", "Who Says", "My Dilemma 2.0", "Round & Round", "Slow Down", "Más (More/Spanish Version)", "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom", and "Falling Down".

4.

("A Year Without Rain [Deluxe Edition]" Album Cover)

In fourth place, is Selena Gomez & The Scene's "A Year Without Rain", which was released in 2010. The album is fairly kid-friendly.
Like the previous albums, that I talked about before, this album has no clear message. I like this slightly better than "Stars Dance" because I listen to almost all of the songs individually. However, this album has so much vocal editing and it seems like the producers did not even try to mask it. Sometimes, it gets a little unbearable.
I re-listen to 10 out of the 13 tracks on this album. Those songs are: "Round & Round", "A Year Without Rain", "Rock God", "Off the Chain", "Intuition (featuring Eric Bellinger)", "Ghost of You", "Sick of You", "Live Like There's No Tomorrow", "Un Año Sin Lluvia (A Year Without Rain - Spanish Version)", and "Falling Down".

3.

("When the Sun Goes Down" Album Cover)

In third place, is Selena Gomez & The Scene's "When the Sun Goes Down", which was released in 2011. The album is pretty kid-friendly, but there is definitely some hinting to more mature topics throughout the songs.
The album itself is put together with fun songs and the album is about having fun before it's time to say goodbye. The reason I don't like this album very much is that as a whole album, this is not very memorable.
It's a good album, but it's not very unique.
I re-listen to 8 out of the 12 tracks on this album. Those songs are: "Love You Like a Love Song", "Bang Bang Bang", "Who Says", "Hit the Lights", "My Dilemma", "Middle of Nowhere", and "Dices (Who Says - Spanish Version)".

2.

("Kiss & Tell" Album Cover)    ("Kiss & Tell" European Album Cover [I had to include this one because I prefer it more])

In second place, is Selena Gomez & The Scene's "Kiss & Tell", which was released in 2009. This is Gomez' first personal album and I think that it was very genuine and honest and it is definitely kid-friendly.
Some of the topics discussed in this album are typical, which seems very usual for a teen-pop album and I appreciate it. The overall message of the album is to not let yourself be used in a relationship and to be independent.
It's an exceptionally good album, disregarding the criticism that this album faced during its initial release.
I re-listen to all 13 tracks on this album. Currently, my favorite on this album is "I Won't Apologize".

1.

("Same Old Love" Single Cover)

In first place, is Gomez' most recent album, "Revival", which was released in 2015. This album definitely requires parental consent.
This album marked Gomez' first record with Interscope Records and I think that this was her most genuine and honest album since "Kiss & Tell".
I'm not going to say that "Revival" is a masterpiece, but it does hold its place. The album consists of songs that may be considered as 'trendy/radio' songs, but she follows the trends in her own manner and continues to be herself. I personally think the tone of her voice is beautiful.
What this album does better than "Stars Dance" is that it shows a progressive version of Selena Gomez and doesn't seem like it's forcing a more grown-up version of her, it all seems natural.
I re-listen to 11 of the 14 tracks on this album. Those songs are: "Revival", "Kill Em with Kindness", "Same Old Love", "Sober", "Good For You (Clean)", "Camouflage", "Me & the Rhythm", "Survivors", "Rise", "Nobody", and "Perfect".

I love Selena Gomez' music and I am excitedly and patiently waiting for her new album! What do you guys think of Selena Gomez' music? Which album of her's is your favorite? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Why High School Musical & Descendants Are the Same

vs          To clear up any misunderstandings, I understand that both franchises were directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega so they will have some similarities in their layouts.         "High School Musical" is a DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) that was released in 2006. The movie conveys the message of breaking free of quotas and being your true self, no matter what labels people put on you, through various different musical numbers. The movie follows star basketball player Troy Bolton and overly 'smart' Gabriella Montez, and how music unites the two unexpected couple together.         "Descendants" is a DCOM that was released in 2015, almost ten years after the release of the original High School Musical. The movie teaches the audience that you must make your own choices in life, and you do not have to live the same lives as your parents, even if that is what is expected of you. The musical follo...

Ranking Demi Lovato's Albums!

Hi! This week I'm going to share my opinion on one of my favorite musical artists: Demi Lovato. This is all based on my own opinion, so you don't have to agree. Currently, she has six studio albums. This list will only include her personal albums (except for "Moves Me" [2004] & "Demo" [?]). This will not include soundtracks or compilation albums from her other projects. 5.  ("Tell Me You Love Me" Album Cover)         In fifth place is her latest album, "Tell Me You Love Me [Clean] (Deluxe) + (Target Exclusive)" which was released in 2017.          I personally don't like this album. It's a good album, but I'm not the target demographic for this album, so maybe that's why I don't like it.          Many of the songs have a more adult theme, so parental consent is recommended.          The album is different from Lovato's previ...

My Favorite/Best Disney Channel Moments (Part 3)

Basically, this is the same concept as the first and second parts but includes different clips. Please if you haven't, go and read the other parts too. Of course, there are going to be major spoilers and all rights obviously go to their respective owner.         The first scene I'm going to be talking about is from the 2011 DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie), "Lemonade Mouth", which is based on Mark Peter Hughes' 2007 novel of the same name. "Lemonade Mouth" is how five high schoolers meet in detention and end up forming a band called 'Lemonade Mouth' and also help cope and mend with their lives using music and friendship. This is one of my favorite DCOMs and it actually has really good music.         When Lemonade Mouth is preparing for the 'Rising Star' competition, their worlds' seem to fall apart. Wen (played by Adam Hicks) injures his eye when his father (played by Bob Jesser) asks him to be his best man. The other remaini...
