Why High School Musical & Descendants Are the Same

Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron, and Lucas Grabeel in High School Musical (2006) vs Dove Cameron in Descendants (2015)

To clear up any misunderstandings, I understand that both franchises were directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega so they will have some similarities in their layouts.
"High School Musical" is a DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) that was released in 2006. The movie conveys the message of breaking free of quotas and being your true self, no matter what labels people put on you, through various different musical numbers. The movie follows star basketball player Troy Bolton and overly 'smart' Gabriella Montez, and how music unites the two unexpected couple together.
"Descendants" is a DCOM that was released in 2015, almost ten years after the release of the original High School Musical. The movie teaches the audience that you must make your own choices in life, and you do not have to live the same lives as your parents, even if that is what is expected of you. The musical follows Mal, daughter of 'Maleficent', and her three friends as they face the choice of being good or evil.
Since both films share a similar theme and present it to the audience in the form of a musical, it's easy to see that "Descendants" might just be a reincarnation of "High School Musical".
The similarities also carry out onto "High School Musical 2" and "Descendants 2".
Both of the second installments have a villain who doesn't necessarily want to cause havoc, they want recognition or appreciation (Sharpay Evans & Uma, daughter of 'Ursula').
The two movies also have very similar songs. Both have a song where one of the two main characters has to branch out from their relationship and be themselves ('Gotta Go My Own Way' & 'Space Between'). The opening musical numbers are very similar, not musically, but the choreography looks like it was copied and pasted from one another.
"Descendants 3" comes out this summer, so I'm excited to find the similarities between that and "HSM 3".
Is "Descendants" a reincarnation of "High School Musical"? Which franchise is better? What are your thoughts?

The Importance of Theme Songs

Theme songs are important, but today I'm going to highlight why. Theme songs set viewers up for the upcoming episode and create anticipation. They also allow viewers to sing along with the cheesy lyrics and dance to the infectious music, creating happy memories. Theme songs allow the writers of the tv show to display the show's values and purpose in a song for many to enjoy, every time they watch the show.  Here are some theme songs that are popular:  1. "Drake & Josh" (2004-2007) In Nickelodeon's "Drake & Josh", Drake Parker (played by Drake Bell) and Josh Nichols (played by Josh Peck), two very different teenagers, suddenly become brothers, when their families converge. The show is very enjoyable and funny, and many remember it for its theme song.  In the theme song, "I Found A Way", which was sung by Drake Bell, Bell sings that even though it seemed crazy and difficult to become brothers, he eventually found a way...

Is "Under Wraps" Really that Bad?

Is the 1997 DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) "Under Wraps" really one of the worst DCOMs? According to EOnline, it's the ninth worst DCOM to have ever been made.           The movie is aimed at a slightly older audience, like me, but it never goes out of its way to show that. It has believable characters, like Amy, the sarcastic one of the trio of friends who, inevitably find and awake a mummy, whom they call Harold. They embark on a journey to save Harold from turning into dust but instead learn a lesson about love.          The main character, Marshall, has trouble accepting that his mom is in a relationship with someone who is not his father. After seeing what troubles Harold, played by the voice of Patrick Star from the tv show "Spongebob Squarepants", Bill Fagerblake, goes through to see his love for the final time, he comes to a conclusion that his mom should be able to love whomev...
