My Personal Favorite DCOM! (Part 2)

"Lemonade Mouth" is a DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) which was released in 2011, isn't the best DCOM to have ever been made, but it is definitely one of my personal favorite DCOMs.
"Lemonade Mouth" is based on Mark Peter Hughes' 2007 novel of the same name. I have not read the book, but I do know some of the changes that were made in the movie. I will try not to reference the book because I don't have a full exposure and understanding of the plot that takes place in the book.
"Lemonade Mouth" is a film about how five high schoolers create a successful band while they use music and friendship to escape their own realities.
One thing that I adore about this film is that it handles five main characters and does an adequate job of giving each character enough screen time, while other DCOMs fail to handle one main character.
I know that the musical instruments that were played by the characters are different than the ones in the novel. This change was probably made so that it would be easier to write music for the film. I also know that some of the issues that the characters deal with were changed in the film, and that's probably to make the movie as 'pg' as possible.
The music in "Lemonade Mouth" is exceptional and what this film does with its music is different than other DCOMs. It has a wonderful soundtrack, with "Somebody" being their most relatable and best track. The rival music is actually really catchy, but this film shows that the production of a song can sometimes overshadow the negative messages of a song. While 'Lemonade Mouth' makes inspiring, yet catchy music, the rival band, 'Mudslide Crush' in the film uses their lyrics and popularity to put down their listeners and build themselves to have a superior demeanor.
Not only is the writing of this film great, but the actors and actresses that portray their respective characters also do a great job to show the emotions of all the different characters. There are many times in the film where the characters are near giving up, but their love for music and each other keep them going.  Each of the characters' musical intuitions seems impossible, yet believable at the same time.
Another reason I love this DCOM is that it doesn't milk the movie for a sequel. Even though some parts of the plot don't make much sense, the movie has a good resolution and ties up things very well. I'm happy that the directors and writers, and Disney didn't milk this for a sequel, because a sequel was not needed. As much as I would love to see the characters again, I don't want an unnecessary and rushed sequel.
I recommend this movie, especially to those who enjoyed the "High School Musical", "Camp Rock", and/or "Teen Beach" franchises. What are your thoughts on "Lemonade Mouth"? This is one of my favorite DCOMs, what's yours?

Why High School Musical & Descendants Are the Same

vs          To clear up any misunderstandings, I understand that both franchises were directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega so they will have some similarities in their layouts.         "High School Musical" is a DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) that was released in 2006. The movie conveys the message of breaking free of quotas and being your true self, no matter what labels people put on you, through various different musical numbers. The movie follows star basketball player Troy Bolton and overly 'smart' Gabriella Montez, and how music unites the two unexpected couple together.         "Descendants" is a DCOM that was released in 2015, almost ten years after the release of the original High School Musical. The movie teaches the audience that you must make your own choices in life, and you do not have to live the same lives as your parents, even if that is what is expected of you. The musical follo...

Ranking Demi Lovato's Albums!

Hi! This week I'm going to share my opinion on one of my favorite musical artists: Demi Lovato. This is all based on my own opinion, so you don't have to agree. Currently, she has six studio albums. This list will only include her personal albums (except for "Moves Me" [2004] & "Demo" [?]). This will not include soundtracks or compilation albums from her other projects. 5.  ("Tell Me You Love Me" Album Cover)         In fifth place is her latest album, "Tell Me You Love Me [Clean] (Deluxe) + (Target Exclusive)" which was released in 2017.          I personally don't like this album. It's a good album, but I'm not the target demographic for this album, so maybe that's why I don't like it.          Many of the songs have a more adult theme, so parental consent is recommended.          The album is different from Lovato's previ...

My Favorite/Best Disney Channel Moments (Part 3)

Basically, this is the same concept as the first and second parts but includes different clips. Please if you haven't, go and read the other parts too. Of course, there are going to be major spoilers and all rights obviously go to their respective owner.         The first scene I'm going to be talking about is from the 2011 DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie), "Lemonade Mouth", which is based on Mark Peter Hughes' 2007 novel of the same name. "Lemonade Mouth" is how five high schoolers meet in detention and end up forming a band called 'Lemonade Mouth' and also help cope and mend with their lives using music and friendship. This is one of my favorite DCOMs and it actually has really good music.         When Lemonade Mouth is preparing for the 'Rising Star' competition, their worlds' seem to fall apart. Wen (played by Adam Hicks) injures his eye when his father (played by Bob Jesser) asks him to be his best man. The other remaini...
