Was "Return to Halloweentown" Needed?

Back in Halloweentown huh? I recently watched the entire series seeming as Halloween is coming right around the corner. The original movie in the series was first released 20 years ago in 1998, and it still holds up as a DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) classic. The franchise is about how a normal family turns out to have magical powers who save Halloweentown and the world. The fourth and last installment of the series was released in October 2006. The question is: was the fourth movie really needed? The answer is no. The plot of the whole movie was a little bit everywhere. It wasn't difficult to follow, but I just lost interest throughout the duration of the film. Disney also made the decision to replace Marnie Piper, the main character of the whole franchise, formerly played by Kimberly J. Brown to Sara Paxton respectfully. I had grown to make an emotional connection with the characters and especially Brown's portrayal of Marnie. Sadly, Paxton couldn't deliver the way Brown had did previously. She couldn't bring Marnie to life the same way Brown had. The on-screen chemistry that the whole cast had was one of the main reasons that the movies are classics and well-known. Changing the lead put a dent on the family aspect of the final movie. I have nothing against Paxton. I'm sure she is an amazing actress, but I just don't like her portrayal of Marnie Piper. Going back to the family aspect of the series most of Pipers/Cromwells weren't in the movie. Aggie Cromwell, the grandmotherly figure, the heart and soul of the franchise played by the late Debbie Reynolds was only present in the movie by holograms. The little sister Sophie, portrayed by Emily Roeske was not present in this movie at all. The brother Dylan, played by Joey Zimmerman wasn't given any development and was pretty useless in this movie. The plot itself wasn't engaging and it was unimportant to the overall series. This is considered to be the worst movie in the whole franchise, even by IMDb. "Return to Halloweentown" was just a way Disney tried to milk the franchise. I mean who wouldn't want to see another Halloweentown movie? In my opinion, "Return to Halloweentown" shouldn't have existed especially without Kimberly Brown. What are your thoughts?

Why High School Musical & Descendants Are the Same

vs          To clear up any misunderstandings, I understand that both franchises were directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega so they will have some similarities in their layouts.         "High School Musical" is a DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) that was released in 2006. The movie conveys the message of breaking free of quotas and being your true self, no matter what labels people put on you, through various different musical numbers. The movie follows star basketball player Troy Bolton and overly 'smart' Gabriella Montez, and how music unites the two unexpected couple together.         "Descendants" is a DCOM that was released in 2015, almost ten years after the release of the original High School Musical. The movie teaches the audience that you must make your own choices in life, and you do not have to live the same lives as your parents, even if that is what is expected of you. The musical follo...

Ranking Demi Lovato's Albums!

Hi! This week I'm going to share my opinion on one of my favorite musical artists: Demi Lovato. This is all based on my own opinion, so you don't have to agree. Currently, she has six studio albums. This list will only include her personal albums (except for "Moves Me" [2004] & "Demo" [?]). This will not include soundtracks or compilation albums from her other projects. 5.  ("Tell Me You Love Me" Album Cover)         In fifth place is her latest album, "Tell Me You Love Me [Clean] (Deluxe) + (Target Exclusive)" which was released in 2017.          I personally don't like this album. It's a good album, but I'm not the target demographic for this album, so maybe that's why I don't like it.          Many of the songs have a more adult theme, so parental consent is recommended.          The album is different from Lovato's previ...

My Favorite/Best Disney Channel Moments (Part 3)

Basically, this is the same concept as the first and second parts but includes different clips. Please if you haven't, go and read the other parts too. Of course, there are going to be major spoilers and all rights obviously go to their respective owner.         The first scene I'm going to be talking about is from the 2011 DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie), "Lemonade Mouth", which is based on Mark Peter Hughes' 2007 novel of the same name. "Lemonade Mouth" is how five high schoolers meet in detention and end up forming a band called 'Lemonade Mouth' and also help cope and mend with their lives using music and friendship. This is one of my favorite DCOMs and it actually has really good music.         When Lemonade Mouth is preparing for the 'Rising Star' competition, their worlds' seem to fall apart. Wen (played by Adam Hicks) injures his eye when his father (played by Bob Jesser) asks him to be his best man. The other remaini...
